The Story Of Othwic:

Othwic has had a fairly humble upbringing. Son of a woodsman living in the thick of Darkling Wood, he grew up with two sisters (Juna and Erana) in a happy but humble home.

By the age of 14 he was working full time alongside his father (Othwade), felling trees, managing the woodland for the local villages, estates and gentry.

The trouble came only six months ago, on his 20th birthday. It had been a severe winter but the extra work for firewood had seen them well in those lean dark months.

Whilst venturing to The Rising Sun in Coggershall with his friends that evening, a marauding pack of mountain wolves somehow found their way into Darkling Wood, starving and hungry for prey.

On that black night the family were slaughtered and eaten in their beds; Othwade managed to chase them off, but he too was fatally wounded.

Othwic returned to a scene that was devastating and horrific beyond belief. In his grief he set fire to the mauled corpses of his family and burnt the home as an offering to his forest goddess 'Arbora'. 

He then declared a lifelong blood vengence against the mountain wolves and anyone serving their god 'Lupus'.

As compensation for the years of dutiful service to the barony, Baron Tiberius has granted Othwic use of a small, single-bedroom, house in Coggershall in perpetuity.
